Ultrasound

An ultrasound scan uses high-frequency sound waves to picture the internal structures of a person's body. Doctors typically use ultrasound to study a developing fetus (unborn baby), abdominal and pelvic organs, muscles and tendons of a person, or blood vessels of a body.
